A giant F.O.E. monster

This week’s issue of Famitsu revealed some new tidbits about Etrian Mystery Dungeon. First is the existence of new “D.O.E.” monsters in the game, as shown in the image above. This is not a typo of F.O.E., but it’s not yet known what the difference between the two is. As you can see in the screenshot above, these new giant monsters look rather formidable. One had better be prepared before starting a fight with one of these guys!

We also got a look at the game’s new “Furai” class. It’s not yet known exactly what type of class they are, but from the images below it looks like they can give out some good damage. The “Furai” class is also perhaps a bit of a homage to Shiren the Wanderer of the Mystery Dungeon series.

Famitsu’s preview of Etrian Mystery Dungeon also revealed a couple of NPCs. One of them is a man you will visit to get new quests. You will also visit him again after completing each quest, so you will be seeing him fairly often.

The other NPC the preview revealed is a man who can be found in the Adventurer’s Guild. He is the man to see when you need to create characters or set up a party before heading out into a perilous dungeon to complete a mission. You don’t want to enter a dungeon with a crappy party and die, do you? You’d best visit him and set up a good party first then!

Etrian Mystery Dungeon is set to arrive on 3DS in the spring of 2015. If you like exploring dungeons and doing missions, you might just want to check this game out. Just make sure you don’t become a pile of bones for future adventurers to stumble across!

He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
