Alongside the DmC Devil May Cry: Definitive Edition announcement, Capcom also announced Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition is slated for a summer 2015 release. It, too, will be coming to current-gen consoles, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Little is known about what exactly will be different about the upcoming re-release, other than the accompanying picture of Vergil seen in the tail end of the DmCDMCDE reveal trailer. Given the amount of love Capcom has given to Dante’s evil twin brother, Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition may have him as a playable character. Or it may contain an added story section involving Vergil, which would be somewhat anachronistic given how dead he is at this point in the non-reboot timeline. Either way, all we know is that he’s involved. I guess we’ll find out how next summer.
In case you’re wondering if all the DLC will be included as well, the answer is simple. Devil May Cry 4 never had any DLC. 2008 was a simpler time.
