Congratulations are in order for Josh Hano and his team. Their role-reversed side-scrolling platformer Nefarious has reached its funding goal on Kickstarter. The campaign literally came down to the wire with $12,000 coming in the last 6 hours and the goal being reached with just a couple minutes to spare.
Nefarious stars you as the villain kidnapping the princesses and thwarting the heroes that try to come after you. The game actually pokes fun at games that feature damsels in distress like Super Mario, even including a Peach-like character named Princess Mayapple that finds being kidnapped a mild inconvenience but will still invite the villain Crow for go-karting.
Nefarious is expected to release on Windows PC, Mac OS, Linux, and Wii U. It is also looking for support on Steam Greenlight as well. And while the main crowdfunding portion is over, they will be opening donations via PayPal soon, so we might even see some of those stretch goal attained, like the $60,000 Musical Stage.
