E3 2014 | Abyss Odyssey

E3 2014 | Abyss Odyssey

I need to start this by saying two constants about myself – I love platformers and I LOVE Atlus. They are probably my favorite publisher in the industry these days, with a couple of exceptions. They constantly put out great, indie stuff that is well made, well translated, and occasionally, superbly beautiful. Thus, it is with bittersweet feeling that I bring to you this trailer for Abyss Odyssey.

It is a new platformer from Atlus for XBox 360, PS3 and PC, but sadly not 3DS or Wii U. Developed by ACE Team, the game has you control one of several characters, ranging from the warrior Katrien, to the Ghost Monk to the ethereal and beautiful Pincoya. Players adventure into the Abyss to stop a mad sorceror summoning nightmarish creatures deep within. Players also gain the ability to possess monsters and use their powers to fight through the labyrinth. The game is also procedurally generated, so it will never play the same way twice! Should be fun for fans when it releases Summer 2014. Until then, enjoy the following trailer!
