Sony PlayStation Press Conference Recap - E3 2014 | oprainfall

With both of their 8th generation consoles out, it is “A Tale of Two Gens” for Sony. On one hand, you have the PS4, the current top selling console of the generation, easily surpassing the Wii U with its year long head start and blowing the Xbox One out of the gates. On the other hand, you have the Vita, the handheld that, despite being more powerful and within the same price point as its competition as well as receiving support from pretty much everywhere, is floundering and struggling for mainstream relevancy.

Sony needs to keep up the momentum they have with the PS4 while still showing support (as small as it may be) for the PS3. In addition, they need to push the Vita to the forefront of the handheld battle if it’s going to stand a chance against the 3DS.
