A little while ago, Capcom announced a new mobile rhythm game called Go! Go! Sound Rangers! for iOS. It’s sort of like Elite Beat Agents where you tap/hold buttons in time to the music. They had also previously announced that some Mega Man characters would make an appearance in the game since they’ve got nothing better for the Blue Bomber to do. Now the official Twitter for the game has released a teaser image for the next character in the game.
これは!!さすがにレアすぎるキャラクターなので、シルエットで! #オトレンジャー pic.twitter.com/LIJh6cv7cF

To the casual observer, this silhouette wouldn’t raise any alarms. However, Mega Man Legends fans will recognize that as the final design for Aero from the cancelled Mega Man Legends 3. It would seem kind of odd that Capcom would include a character from a game that was never made if this were the case. One could argue that they’d be giving the Legends franchise a little recognition, particularly towards the ill-fated 3rd installment. However, putting the character in what is likely to be a shallow mobile title will more than likely just throw more salt onto the wound. It’s not like it’d be the first time they did so.
Mind you, this is all pure guesswork as of this writing. It’s always possible that this could be a brand new character, but I wouldn’t be surprised if this were the case. What about you? Do you think it’d be great if Capcom put Aero into this game? Let us know in the comments.
