Marth has just been confirmed as a returning character for the latest instalment in the Smash Bros. series!

Super Smash Bros. (Wii U/3DS) | Marth

I’m sure many of you will be pleased and relieved to hear this. As there’s no accompanying trailer, we don’t yet know if his moveset will remain the same, although he does look slightly manlier, just a little.

This is good news for Marth fans, who, like me, may have been concerned that he would be replaced by the Masked Marth seen in Fire Emblem: Awakening. Perhaps his Awakening doppelgänger will turn up as an alternate costume for the hero of the first game in the series? I certainly hope so!

Ten screenshots were released alongside this announcement—one for the 3DS, and the rest for the Wii U. Check them out below!

We at oprainfall are crazy about Smash Bros., which is why we’ve started up our Smashing Saturdays series to keep you all up to date with what’s been announced each week! I myself am a crazy Fire Emblem fan; I even did an article talking about early games in the series, back when Awakening was released in North America.

How many of you are looking forward to the new Smash Bros.? Let us know why or why not in the comments below!
