Wolf Children

FUNimation has posted a new trailer for the film Wolf Children, directed by Mamoru Hosoda (Summer Wars, The Girl Who Leapt Through Time), with English voice-overs. Colleen Clinkenbeard (Monkey D. Luffy, One Piece; Riza Hawkeye, Full Metal Alchemist) plays Hana, a young woman who falls in love with a a wolf-man played by David Matranga (Orphen, Sorcerous Stabber Orphen; Hideki Hinata, Angel Beats!). Later, she must raise her half-wolf children Ami (Alison Viktorin) and Yuki (Lara Woodhull) while hiding for safety in the countryside.

The cast also includes the voices of Micah Solusod (who narrates throughout the trailer), Jad Saxton, Jerry Russell, and Jason Liebrecht under Mike McFarland’s direction.

Wolf Children has garnered much praise from critics and received awards at film festivals around the world. Such awards include the prestigious Japan Academy Prize for Animation of the Year and both the Silver Mirror and audience award at Norway’s Oslo Films from the South Festival.

For North American audiences, Wolf Children is slated to release November 26th. The film will be releasing in Australia December 18th through Madman Entertainment and in the United Kingdom December 23th through Manga Entertainment UK.

Those in North America eager to see Wolf Children in a theater should check the list of cities in which it will be screening on FUNimation’s Wolf Children website. For cities not on that list, FUNimation is partnering with TUGG to allow requests for more screenings across North America, so be sure to let your voice be heard.
