While the cosplay environment on display at PAX Prime 2013 was ably covered by Karli Winata, I focused more on my surroundings. There were ample beautiful displays, from the glory of Behemoth’s arcade setup to the colorful Nintendo areas to the creative Inide MEGABOOTH. I did my darndest to get pictures of each area that appealed to me while dodging the constantly milling centipede-like crowd of gamers. Take a look at my photos and let us know what you think!
I wanted to take this cube home with me.
Yarr.
Yo ho.
No idea what this game was about, but I loved the banners.
So freaking cool-looking.
Nintendo’s main area on the ground level.
Myself cosplaying as Old Snake
Descending to Nintendo’s subterranean levels
Though the line for this was crazy, it was even worse for
Wind Waker HD.
The Zelda love was strong at PAX.
These were too big to smuggle home with me.
Love the panda.
The 2DS was on dispaly, but that was all. No demos.
More Wind Waker love
Me as Strider
The Behemoth booth was perhaps my favorite.
This screen constantly showed off Behemoth games.
Behemoth converted their games into giant arcade machines. Love the side graphics.
One of Behemoth’s cool arcade machines.
You wouldn’t believe how hard it was to get this pic without people walking in front of me.
At the Dragon Fin Soup booth. Note the glasses.
Gotta love PvZ.
The Titanfall display
I also wanted to take this home with me.
League of Legends was on full display at PAX.
Very cool area, full of great games.
Crypt of the NecroDancer—never got to try it, but looked fun.
The Luftrausers booth
Hilarity.
