As most of you no doubt know, oprainfall started off as Operation Rainfall, a campaign to get three Japanese games localized in the West. Although the campaign has since ended and our focus has shifted to this website, all three games were eventually localized. Many of you have written us with your frustration that Operation Rainfall is no longer campaigning for games you want to see localized. Well, folks, that is about to change.
Unlike the original campaigning days, we now have a partnership with an actual localization company: Language Automation, Inc. (LAI). LAI has localized video games for several popular companies in the past. They’re huge fans of games, as well, and would love to see more games being localized that are not. In that spirit, they are going to directly approach companies like SEGA and Konami and offer them discounts in the hope that they will agree to localize games.
WE NEED YOUR HELP!
In order to show these companies that there is a legitimate demand for these games that shows these games will sell, we need people to vote. The more votes these games get, the more likely the games will be localized. If there are few to zero votes, the chances will not be good. So spread the word, talk to people, share the links on Facebook and Twitter. Together, we can do something proactive to ensure the games we want to see are being localized. This is something us video game buyers have never had the chance to do before!
VOTE RIGHT NOW!
Head on over to the voting page right now and vote for your preferred SEGA and Konami games. Please try to realize that we have to start small. Begging for other games to be localized does not help the cause. Also, please only vote for a game if you legitimately plan to buy it if the game is localized.
You can vote on the two polls on the right-hand-side towards the bottom of the page or visit the Voting Page for information about each game.
