Famitsu has released some new details about Gust’s latest PlayStation Vita game, Chronos Materia. We meet a new character and learn more about the Homunculus system, which is how classes are chosen in this game.
Licorice is a bright and bubbly young girl who cannot stand sad things. She is a realist who is sensitive to the feelings of others, and considers many actions to be thoughtless. She has a knack for seeing both the good and bad qualities in a person and can be taken advantage of easily due to her willingness to help others.
In Chronos Materia, you are able to enlist Homunculi to aid you in your journey. Homunculi are beings created using alchemy, and can take on many different forms. They can be taken with the main characters into battle, or left behind and assigned jobs. Homunculi are able to assist in gathering items, exterminating threats and compounding items while the player is off adventuring. Once a Homunculi reaches adulthood, they become much more powerful. Learning to use Homunculi efficiently is key to doing well in Chronos Materia.
Homunculi come in eight different types, one of which the player will choose upon the creation of a Homunculus. Each class has a few different portraits to choose from, and can be raised in different ways according to the player’s preference.
From left to right and then going down, the following images depict, in order: Witch, Demon Blade, Summoner, Star Singer, Amaterasu Fighter, Valkyrie, Moon Sorceress, Tree God.
Chronos Materia is the latest game from Japanese developer Gust. It will be released on the PlayStattion Vita.
