Confirming its Western localization at E3 2013, Atlus has now set a concrete release date for Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl. The 3DS-based re-imagining of the first Etrian Odyssey game will be available in stores and on the Nintendo e-Shop October 1st for North America this year.
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl will experiment with numerous features never seen before in the series that will entice both veterans and newcomers to the Etrian Odyssey series. The game will have a story mode that involves five pre-made characters, with their own unique personalities, as they brave through the Etrian world and dungeons to learn about the Ygdrassil Tree and the titular Millennium Girl on the box art, Frederica. Additionally, this game will incorporate voice acting and animations (produced by MADHOUSE) for the first time, as well as the option to use orchestrated music.
For the series’ veterans exclusively, there will be a Classic Mode where players can create their own characters and re-live the first Etrian Odyssey experience with updated visuals and music as seen in Etrian Odyssey IV: Legends of the Titan. So even with all the updates that meet today’s conveniences, this Etrian Odyssey is not forgetting its roots that the series is known for.
Seeing as how the game was just announced westward last month before getting the release date today, that was rather fast on Atlus’ part. So, will you be getting Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl when it releases? Tell us in the comments section below!
