BATTLE 2: The Faithful Sidekicks

tailsvsrush

These ever-dependable sidekicks share the similarities of both being related to canines, if you consider a fox and a robotic dog to be canines that is. They also share one more similarity in that they can both hover/fly, which they use to assist their leaders.

Tails first appearance was in Sonic the Hedgehog 2, where he accompanied the blue Erinaceid (that’s the official name, honest) to stop the evil Dr. Robotnik. In all fairness, Tails was a bit useless. Forever running off edges into bottomless pits or spikes, always getting left behind – even with a 2nd player controlling him – and making you lose rings during the bonus stages. He does come in handy during the later games by flying his bi-plane and actually putting his gift of ‘tail flight’ to some use by carrying Sonic over various hazards. But in all honesty he’s better off cheering on Sonic from the side-lines.

Rush is a jack-of-all-trades. He’s able to produce a spring-loaded platform that gives Mega Man extra height to his jumps, turn into a hoverboard, a submarine, and even a spaceship. Rush can also fuse himself with Mega Man to form Power and Jet suits for the blue bomber. Essentially, he’s the best kind of sidekick you could ever have… good luck with this one Tails.

Who will be the victor out of the fairly useless two-tailed fox and an awesome robotic dog? Gee, I wonder…

Sorry, there are no polls available at the moment.

David Rawlings
David Rawlings, or ‘Rawky’ as we like to call him, joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign at the beginning. He’s British and found solace with us as he was able to understand our pain about Nintendo and their localizing faux pas. He’s a big fan of the letter ‘U’ and refuses to remove them from words, even though we constantly ask him to. He also believes it’s about time Princess Daisy got kidnapped.
