New screenshots for Earth Defense Force 2025 have surfaced, mostly focusing on the game’s Fencer class. As you might have guessed, Earth Defense Force 2025 takes place 8 years after Earth Defense Force 2017. The bugs are back, and badder than ever. To compensate, the EDF has a new trick up their sleeve: The Fencer class. The Fencer class, despite the implications of its name, is a heavily armored tank of a class. Hefting around those giant shields all day may not be easy, but when you’re fighting giant insects and mech enemies the extra protection will be worth it.

Other classes in the game include the Ranger, the Wing Diver and the Air Raider. Rangers are foot soldiers, who can use vehicles and mechas. Wing Divers use high-tech jetpacks to flit around their enemies releasing a barrage of attack. Air Raiders, as you might expect, can call air raids down on their enemies, but also have many support abilities.
