Namco Bandai Games has been very quiet about their upcoming crossover fighting game Project Versus J. This game appears to be somewhat of a follow up to 2008’s Jump Ultimate Stars on the Nintendo DS. That game played similar to Super Smash Bros. or Playstation All Stars Battle Royale, except instead of playing as characters form Super Mario Bros. or Metal Gear Solid, you are playing as characters from manga featured in Shonen Jump’s manga magazines. Unlike that DS game and its predecessor Jump Super Stars, this game will be a 3D fighting game. So far, we know that characters from One Piece, Dragonball Z and Toriko will be present, but chances are that characters from Naruto, Bleach, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, Reborn! or Gintama will be playable as well.
A teaser site was updated a couple days ago with a countdown for when more news and information will come out. As of this writing the countdown is at seven days. So in seven days, more details about this game should be released. Namco Bandai has already announced that Project Versus J will be available on the Playstation 3 and on the Playstation Vita. Both of those systems are region free, so people who do not live in Japan will be able to import and play it, which is a good thing since a game like this is not likely to be published outside of Japan.
So we have to wait seven more days to find out more about this game. For now here is a screenshot of Luffy getting punched by Toriko:
