Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days fans, take note: there’s more than meets the eye for the game’s HD-remastered cutscenes included in the soon-to-be-released Kingdom Hearts: HD 1.5 ReMIX. A feature-length montage of 358/2 Days is one of the goodies featured in this series retrospective for the PS3.
In a Japanese press release, Square Enix revealed that not only will there be close to three hours’ worth of cutscenes from the DS game reworked in beautiful HD, but the runtime includes about one-and-a-half hours of rebuilt, previously unvoiced event scenes.
As an infomercial pitchman would say, “But wait, there’s more!” In addition to that, the original 358/2 Days‘ “Roxas’ Diary” and “Secret Reports” are intact in HD 1.5 ReMIX, as well as a new feature dubbed the “Character Encyclopedia.” This lengthy volume contains introductions to every character featured in 358/2 Days.
And if that’s not enough, fans can obtain goodies for their PS3 while watching the cutscenes. Trophy collectors will appreciate the PSN trophy support, while the most faithful 358/2 Days fans can obtain character themes for their PS3s.
In the end, Kingdom Hearts: HD 1.5 ReMIX seems to be a worthy package for Kingdom Hearts fans, especially those who have not experienced the critically acclaimed and commercially successful 358/2 Days.
Kingdom Hearts: HD 1.5 ReMIX is scheduled for a March 14, 2013 release in Japan, with a Western release apparently in the works according to voice actor Jesse McCartney. We’ll keep you posted.
