Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable now has a more detailed release date. D3Publisher, who we know for releasing games such as Dark Sector and Earth Defense Force: Insect Armageddon, said to expect the game in the West on the Vita in February 2013.  The game can be yours for $39.99

Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable

Those who played Earth Defense Force 2017 on the PS3 will know what to expect from the Vita title. For those who haven’t played, here is some basic info. The year is 2017. Makes sense right? The Ravagers are hell-bent on wiping out all of mankind, and we have created a special group of soldiers to handle this problem. You are equipped with some pretty sweet weapons in order to achieve your goal. You are a part of the elite unit Storm 1. As a member of the EDF team (Earth Defense Force) you have access to more then 150 weapons including assault rifles and rocket launchers. Some levels offer vehicles like tanks, helicopters, and even a bipedal mecha. There are 5 difficulty levels to choose from – the higher difficulty levels offer a better payout in the form of better weapons.

Earth Defense Force consists of  53 levels with environments that you can destroy, which is a feature I know I appreciate in any game. Rocket launchers were meant to take out buildings, right? I am certain it’s  important to find out how much damage your grenades can cause by throwing them at random objects. Once you stop yourself from blowing up everything in sight, you can get on with the main mission of saving Earth from the Ravagers. To help you do so, you can recruit other EDF members to help you on your journey.

The basis of the game will remain the same, but with lots of added extras. New features will include an online co-op with up to 4 players. There are also new missions, enemies, and weapons. As if that’s not enough, you are provided with a whole new character! Pale Wing utilizes a jet pack to help in the fight against the Ravagers.

With Earth Defense Force 2017’s release right around the corner, will you be joining the battle against the Ravagers on your Vita?
