Namco Bandai has released the debut trailer for Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic for the 3DS. The RPG is based on a long running Arabian Nights-themed Japanese manga, written and illustrated by Shinobu Ohtaka.
The game stars protagonist Aladdin, a young boy who travels through a desert land. He carries a magic flute that summons a djinn named Ugo. Together they befriend a seemingly greedy young man named Alibaba, who realizes that the djinn would be a powerful ally. Thus, he recruits them to help explore a nearby treasure-filled dungeon. As they travel together, they become friends, make allies, and encounter other djinn. Along the way, they discover that they could potentially decide the fate of the world.
Magi has also recently been picked up and will be turned into an anime series premiering in October later this year. You can watch the trailer for the 3DS game below:
No exact release date has been announced, but it is set to release for the Nintendo handheld in the spring of 2013.
