David Cox, the producer of the Castlevania: Lords of Shadow trilogy sat down with Gameinformer for an interview, during which he detailed how Mirror of Fate will be using the 3DS screens.

The top screen will show the game world and the main character as they move through and interact with it.

The touch screen will have a myriad of uses. First and foremost it will feature a map of the castle which will clearly show where you have and haven’t explored. You will be able to leave memos on the map to remind yourself of areas to return to, the placing of save points and more.

Players can use the touch screen to manage their travel book and inventory, as well as access the bestiary. Using the travel book, players can purchase new abilities and combos using EXP gained throughout the game. Activating magical abilities requires a tap of the touch screen.

Castlevania Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate is set for a release on the 3DS.
