One dedicated fan has taken it upon himself to translate the books that turned into the original Megami Tensei game way back on the Nintendo Famicom! It’s called “Digital Devil Story” or DDS for short. The fan refers to them as trashily written, “beer-and-pretzels” fare, but I’m looking forward to seeing what elements of this original story have been preserved in the series, especially in later incarnations such as Devil Survivor and Strange Journey, and which elements may have been ultimately abandoned.
