Fire Emblem Figmas are Fabulous

So far, February has proven to be the month of Fire Emblem: Awakening (http://amzn NULL.to/VIT0Fn). Not only did the game itself get released in North America earlier this month, but now, a couple of figurines based on characters in the game have been announced for the discerning collector.

The first is a “Masked Marth” figma, which unfortunately, seems only to have been teased at this point, meaning we don’t know what it actually looks like yet.

On the other hand, a 1/8th scale model of the Dark Mage, Tharja seems to be a bit closer to completion.

It should be noted that, compared to the Marth figurine which is a Figma (an articulated figure with interchangeable bits and pieces), Tharja seems to be a “paint-it-yourself” model, for the more dedicated collector/hobbyist.

Marth and Tharja are just the latest Nintendo characters to be made into figurines. They will be joining Pit (http://www NULL.amazon NULL.co NULL.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00AQQGSM2/4k6l0g8-22/ref=nosim/) and Dark Pit (http://www NULL.amazon NULL.co NULL.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B00AQQGSQS/4k6l0g8-22/ref=nosim/) from Kid Icarus: Uprising, and Link (http://www NULL.amazon NULL.co NULL.jp/exec/obidos/ASIN/B008AGAXV2/4k6l0g8-22/ref=nosim/) from The Legend of Zelda.

Thanks to oprainfall editor/Japanese speaker Will Whitehurst for his Japanese translation/model knowledge.

About Devin Kotani

Devin is a Canadian, and as such, plays hockey (no he doesn’t) and drinks maple syrup (not really) while riding a wild moose (he’s never seen a moose). When he’s not perpetuating cultural stereotypes, he’s playing videogames, which has been, on occasion, very bad for his mental health, problems with which have plagued him for years. Now, at 20, he’s getting his mental health issues under control, and he’s trying to decide what to do with his life. He’s currently debating between journalism and trying his hand at the dramatic arts.
