Compile Heart Wants to Send Vita Titles to America

Would you like to play a game as a girl who enters dangerous dungeons to retrieve curry ingredients? How about a card based strategy game? If Compile Heart has their way, you’ll be able to!

The games in question are Holy Sorcery Story (what sorcery has to do with curry, I’m not sure) and Monster Monpeice respectively. Compile Heart is shopping them around to Western publishers for American and European release. A Japanese dungeon crawler starring a girl looking for curry on the Vita? XSEED, I think this might be perfect for you. Might as well take the other one too, while you’re at it.

Compile = Awesome (Gunhed / Blazing Lazers, M.U.S.H.A, Alien Crush, Devil’s Crush, Zanac, Aleste, Spriggan, I could go on and on).

Compile Heart = Icky (Basically a division of Idea Factory that makes pervy dating sim RPGs).

One of the influental SHMUP companies of the late-80s and early 90s went bankrupt to be reborn as a company that makes games like Hyperdemension Neptunia, Agarest War, and games where you “rub” monster girls to remove their clothes during battle: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monster_Monpiece (http://en NULL.wikipedia NULL.org/wiki/Monster_Monpiece) . It’s a shame, because they could have been another “Treasure”.

These games are probably a market that is better left to people in the US that have a Japanese playstation and can read the language anyway. Otherwise, it should stay with Aksys, who seem perfectly content in publishing the weird (Cho-Aniki) and hardcore (Guilty Gear).

As much as I lament the lack of RPGs being localized – this is Compile Heart. They make BAD GAMES. Thank god no publisher is falling on the sword to localize the crap they’re churning out now.
