Today during Sony’s State of Play Square Enix announced a brand new strategy RPG called The DioField Chronicle. This is a brand new IP that is being done in conjunction with Lancarse Ltd. This is a team of veteran strategy developers with character designs by Taiki, concept art by Isamu Kamikokuryo and has orchestrated music from composers Ramin Djawadi and Brandon Campbell, known best for their work on Game of Thrones.

The trailer below shows off some of The DioField Chronicle world, characters and the real-time battle system called ‘Real-Time Tactical Battle’ (RTTB). This system features diorama’-style combat scenes were players will have to think in real-time and issue orders using a variety of skills, classes, and equipment in order to be victorious!

The game will be launching on PlayStation 5, the PlayStation 4 , Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC via STEAM later this year. You can check out the official site for more information.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.
