The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! Manager Mahou Shoujo

We here at oprainfall don’t just love video games: we’re big fans of anime, too. So in celebration of the medium, we’re here to give you our thoughts on what we’ve been watching each week as we watch it. Old, new – anything goes.

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!

The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated! Manager Mahou ShoujoStarting off, we learned a bit about Druj’s backstory and why she is so loyal to Jahy. It shows a better side of Jahy from the past even though it was also something she had forgotten about. The confrontation that was hinted at the end of the last episode does not happen, which shouldn’t be surprising with the series. From there Jahy starts to think about leaving the pub and starting her own business; however, she begins to get some second thoughts, especially after hearing the support from the Manager. Once again, we see how the two sisters, especially the Manager, has gotten close with her. From there the big confrontation starts up again between the figure behind the magical girls and the Demon Lord. During the clash, Jahy sets out to stop it in a selfless manner. We finally end up hearing the reason for the fight and what led to the end of the Dark Realm. With the hostilities seemingly at an end, Jahy instead becomes infuriated at the cause of why everything happened. To be honest, I can understand why she would. The next episode I think maybe the finale, which I’m a bit sad to see, but hope they pull off well. – Walter

Mieruko-chan

Mieruko-chanCatching up with last week’s episode along with the most recent one, we see Miko having issues with her new substitute teacher. The problem continues to worsen as a bigger, more horrific spirit seems to follow him. We can see Yulia becoming closer to Miko and Hana as she starts to eat lunch with them and later join them at their favorite donut shop. Entering a haunted house so Hana can get free donut, Miko ends up using it as a release to finally react to all the terrifying things she sees. This, of course, has an issue when she does see a real spirit, but in the end things work out. In the next episode we see a bit more about the teacher, Zen, who we can see is involved with something dark. During a class reading Miko seems to have attracted his attention along with the spirit, only to be saved by Hana’s hunger. Miko finds out that Yulia knows that something is wrong with Zen, but learns about Hana’s aura which may be what’s making her even more hungry. During some relaxation time with Hana, Miko accidentally acknowledges a spirit. She is saved by the spirits of the shrine once again, and here she finally understands what she was told at the shrine. The episode ends with a look at what things Zen has been doing. It honestly isn’t too hard to have guessed with his connection with cats, but it’ll be interesting to see how the situation with him will be resolved and by who/what. – Walter
