NIS America has just unveiled The Cruel King and the Great Hero story trailer. The game is set to launch on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 sometime in early 2022. As a result, it does not have an ESRB rating yet.

Players will embark on an artistic new adventure while meeting quirky characters along the way. As the journey unfolds, they’ll also uncover what it really means to be a hero and a friend.

The story of The Cruel King and the Great Hero begins long ago, in a peculiar world. Far from the humans, a small kingdom of monsters called the summit of a great mountain home. It was ruled by the Dragon King. Strangely, living alongside the monsters is a young, human girl named Yuu.

As a result of her past, she trained every day to eventually fulfill her dream of being a great hero. The Dragon King has cared for her ever since her father’s death. He wishes to see her dream come true, and so helps her with training, but what will happen next?

Check out the story trailer for a bit more detail, but you’ll have to play The Cruel King and the Great Hero¬†when it comes out early next year to reveal all.

About Michael Fontanini

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general).

I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
