Today is a great day for fans of Nihon Falcom, as NIS America revealed not one, not two, not three, but four different games from the Trails series are heading westward. The announcements occurred during a special concert stream celebrating Nihon Falcom’s 40th Anniversary.

The four games announced are as follows: The Legend of Heroes: Trails from ZeroThe Legend of Heroes: Trails to AzureThe Legend of Heroes: Trails into Reverie, and The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails.

Nihon Falcom | Trails from Zero

Nihon Falcom | Trails to Azure

Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure follow Lloyd Bannings and the Special Support Section in Crossbell State. The story for both games chronologically takes place around the same time as Trails of Cold Steel I and II. The original games were released in 2010 and 2011 respectively for PlayStation Portable, before the first Trails of Cold Steel. These games were well-known for not receiving an official localization despite their connection to the first two Cold Steel games, until now. Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure are scheduled to release in Fall 2022 and sometime in 2023 respectively for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The Geofront, the fan localization group known for their past localization mods for Zero no Kiseki and Ao no Kiseki, have announced that they have partnered with NIS America to bring these games over. The text seen in their localization patches will serve as the basis for the official releases of the Crossbell games.

Nihon Falcom | Trails into Reverie

Trails into Reverie is the latest game to release in the Trails series and takes place after the events of Trails of Cold Steel IV. The game first released in Japan in 2020 for PlayStation 4,with planned ports for Windows PC and Nintendo Switch in that region as well as Asia. Trails into Reverie is scheduled to release in 2023 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Nihon Falcom | The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails

The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails, while part of the Trails series, does not take place on the continent of Zemuria. Unlike other games in the series, this title uses action gameplay, similar to the Ys series. Nayuta originally released in Japan in 2012 for PlayStation Portable and recently received a high definition remaster for PlayStation 4. This remaster released on June 24, 2021 in Japan. The Legend of Nayuta: Boundless Trails is scheduled to release in 2023 for PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
