The latest entry in Falcom’s legendary Ys franchise, Ys IX: Monstrum Nox, will be making it’s way to North America in the not too distant future, and to give fans a taste of what they can expect NIS America just released a new story trailer on their YouTube page.

 

 

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox features Adol Christin, the primary protagonist of the series. Adol has been falsely accused of being responsible for the disappearance of a Romun military fleet out on a voyage in the Atlas Ocean as well as being a spy. The game rakes place in Balduq, a fortress city under rule of the Romun empire with a large prison at it’s center. Adol finds himself wrapped up in the mysteries of the city and the prison as well as a mysterious beings know as Monstrums with strange powers.

Ys IX: Monstrum Nox released in Japan over a year ago. The game will make it’s North American debut on February 2, 2021 on PlayStation 4, with a Nintendo Switch and PC release being expected sometime later. Be sure to stay tuned for future updates.
