The game of price point chicken being played between Microsoft and Sony has finally come to a close as both companies have announced the price of their upcoming consoles. Microsoft having made their announcement last week and today Sony has done the same during their PlayStation 5 livestream.

Much like the XBox Series there will also be two models customers will be able to choose from: The fully featured PlayStation 5 as well as a more budget friendly digital only model. The fully featured model will launch at $499.99 USD (€499.99, £449.99, ¥49,980) and the Digital Edition will be $399.99 (€399.99, £359.99, ¥39,980). As I’m sure you can guess, the Digital Edition lacks any sort of disc drive and will only be able to play digital titles.

You can expect the PlayStation 5 to launch this holiday season. If you would like to watch Sony’s PlayStation 5 Showcase in full you can do so here.
