PSO2

SEGA announced earlier today that their free-to-play MMORPG hit, Phantasy Star Online 2, has reached 1 million registered players.

To commemorate this achievement, SEGA is hosting the “One Million ARKS Celebration” in the game. The celebration begins today and will run until August 26th. For a limited time, EXP, rare drops, and rare enemy spawn rates will all be increased by 100%. Additionally, all players will be able to receive up to 2 Million EXP via EXP Tickets. Players who log in for more than five days during the event period will be entered into a drawing to win 10,000 AC, 1,000 SG, or 10 AC Scratch Tickets. There will be 100 randomly selected winners for each prize.

You can read more about the event on the game’s website here

PSO2

“The teams have worked so hard to bring PSO2 to players around the world this year and I couldn’t be prouder of their efforts,” Fred White, Head of Marketing at PSO Team Global, announced. “Launching worldwide has been a dream come true for all of us. Surpassing a million registered players this month is a good feeling, and we’ve got so much more in store for the game in the future to look forward to!”

Phantasy Star Online 2 came out in Japan all the way back in 2012 but finally hit western platforms at the end of last May on PC. It has since launched on Steam and in 33 more countries and territories earlier this month.

A collaboration with the Persona series is also running from August 19th-September 9th.
