PQube have excitedly announced that Earth Defense Force 5 will arrive on the PlayStation 4 in North America and Europe on September 18th. It is already available on Steam. The arcade shooter’s latest game gives players over 1,000 weapons to choose from, as they battle the alien hordes. The game takes place in 2022, spread across 110 levels with brand new enemies for players to take on. Players can restore peace alone or with friends in multiple scaling difficulty levels, including the classic “Inferno Mode”. You can pre-order Earth Defense Force 5 for PlayStation 4 now at both Video Games Plus and Amazon UK. It will be available in more stores soon. Here is their shiny, new game trailer:

In 2022 Japan, a massive fleet of starships lays waste to an Earth Defense Force base in rough city outskirts of the Kanto region. More realistic battles means you’ll see the armor of your foes fall apart, and fluids spray across the environment. Earth Defense Force 5‘s massive selection of weapons includes lasers, rocket launchers, grenades and of course much more according to the press release. If you battle your foes hard enough, you can unlock the ultimate test: taking on the hordes in “Inferno Mode”. For the first time in the series, Earth Defense Force 5 pits you against intelligent, humanoid aliens. In multiplayer, every mission can be played in local split screen or online in up to four-player cooperative mode. You can play as four different classes: Ranger, Wing Diver, Air Raider and Fencer. You can always switch classes between missions as well. Here are a few new screenshots:

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
