GameLark, a community of artists who are united by a passion for the music of video games, is honoring the Earthbound/Mother series. They have created an upbeat album called Fuzzy Pickles in celebration of Earthbound’s 25th anniversary in America. The album includes nine different arrangements, that give all three titles in the series some time to shine. They include many fan favorite tunes from the games. You can find the album on a number of different store fronts here.

The tracks range from “Bein’ Friends” that might make you want to dance, the jazzy “Twoson”, the emotional ballad “Eight Melodies”, a smooth arrangement of “Pollyanna”, and the shredding metal “Fourside” track. Below is the full track list for the Fuzzy Pickles album.

  1. Bein’ Friends (Mother)
  2. Twoson (EarthBound)
  3. Gentle Rain (Mother 3)
  4. Mother Earth (Mother)
  5. Pollyanna (Mother)
  6. Fate (Mother 3)
  7. You Call This a Utopia? (Mother 3)
  8. Fourside (EarthBound)
  9. Eight Melodies (Mother)

GameLark producers and arrangers Ro Panuganti and Peter “Soundole” Smith commented in the press release about the creation of this tribute album:

“Working through these games is a fantastic opportunity to put more charm, synthesizers, and quirkier arranging into our collection. The emotional stories of the Mother series have helped to unite a disparate fanbase. It’s only fitting then, that this album brings together the diverse and unique talents of Gamelark’s musicians!”

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
