Indie Live Expo 2020 has announced full program details for the event, which is scheduled to start today, June 6th, at 19:50 Japan time. The press release says the presenters, speakers, and guests on each of the language channels will be doing a 10-minute countdown leading up to the start up the event. They are also welcoming simulcasts of the event around the world, so there will be numerous places online where you can hang out to watch the livestream.

You may remember from our previous coverage of announcements on this event, that they had earlier announced special guests Mr. ZUN (Touhou Project) and Mr. Toby Fox (Undertale). Well, more special guests have now been announced. They include:

  • Mr. Shuhei Yoshida, Head of Indies Initiative at Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • and Mr. Jenova Chen, Co-Founder and Creative Director of thatgamecompany

With the full program details announced for the Indie Live Expo 2020 event, the new press release says over 150 indie games will be featured from around the globe. This includes both new games that are already out, as well as some that have not yet made their way into gamers’ hands.

The show will also include other original content, like “Indie Studios Around the World”. It will cover presentations about the global indie game market from an expert. Also included are introductions of both companies and organizations that seek to support indie creators, and more. Below are the full program details that were announced today. It should be noted that they say it is subject to change. So here is what you can expect during the Indie Live Expo 2020 livestream event:

Indie Live (mini) A special live concert performance by Dainashi (rock drummer).
Featuring an original medley of masterpieces from ​Undertale​ and ​Touhou Project
Indie Live Premiere Information on some of the latest indie titles.
Indie Picks Introductions of specially selected indie titles.
Indie Waves A collective introduction of a slew of indie titles.
Indie Studios Around the World Informative lecture on the indie game market by Masatoshi Tokuoka.
This first lecture (in a series) focuses on the Polish indie game industry.

About Michael Fontanini

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general).

Michael is also a computer programmer. This started with a toy he got as a kid called Pre-Computer 1000 that was made by V-Tech. It had a simple programming mode (a bare-bones version of BASIC) which is what started him down the road of being a programmer! Michael can program in BASIC, Visual Basic, C++, C#, and is familiar with Java and Lua Script.

Putting programming and gaming together, Michael became a hobbyist game developer, which may give him some good insights on game development! Most recently, he has been playing with the Unity 3D game engine (a powerful and easy-to-use engine) and learning 3D modelling in Blender.

I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
