The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes Main

Based on Germany’s number one tabletop role-playing franchise, The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes offers players the chance to create their own characters to explore the rich and sprawling world of Aventuria. But where to begin? A new gameplay trailer from publisher Wild River Games gives players a peek at the Wild Boar and all the ways this famous inn will help them in their quest.

Need to launch the tutorial? Talk to the innkeep. Want to hire some henchmen? You’ve come to the right place. The new trailer also showcases the fortune teller, where players can upgrade their abilities; the bookshelf, to learn more about the world of Aventuria; merchants; master smiths; and more.

“We couldn’t be more excited to bring this beloved tabletop franchise to the digital world,” said Marc Wardenga, CEO of Wild River. “With over 35 years of tabletop evolution to reference, The Dark Eye: Book of Heroes is the perfect setting for fans of old-school RPGs, and the team at Random Potion has done an incredible job of bringing it to life on the PC.”

The game hearkens back to the glory days of computer role-playing games like Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights with its party-based, cooperative gameplay and a beautiful and extensive world showcased in a classic isometric view. Continuing in this tradition, Book of Heroes features a deep and robust character creation system all wrapped up in a setting based on Germany’s best-selling tabletop RPG world that goes back to 1984.
