Koei Tecmo America and Gust Studios have unveiled two major new additions to their JRPG, Fairy Tail. The addition of Gildarts, “the strongest man in the Fairy Tail guild” has increased the roster to 16. They have also revealed the first details on the Eclipse story arc. In North America, Fairy Tail is planned to launch for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 later this summer, on June 26th. A day earlier than that, it will launch on Steam on June 25th. Here is the story trailer:

The new character, Gildarts, is an S-class mage who turns things to rubble using “Crush” magic. Players can put together a team of Fairy Tail clan members and their rivals. As characters continue to fight alongside each other in a party, their friendship level will grow. There are special conversations called “Bond Dialogue”, that will happen between them.

The new Eclipse story arc revolves around “Project Eclipse”, which is an experiment that winds up opening a gateway to the past. This in turn unleashes Dragons from 400 years ago into the present time period. Characters must now battle against them and survive.

They also recently revealed that there will be a deluxe version of Fairy Tale. It will include the special Grand Magic Games costume, a bonus Lacrima set, and finally a DDX Limited Ryza costume (for Lucy)! Those who purchase any version of the game within a limited time period from launch will unlock the pre-purchase bonus (the special Miss FAIRY TAIL costume for Erza) according to the press release. You can find out more at the official website.

Michael Fontanini
Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general). I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
