Magia Record | Anime NYC US Premiere

Aniplex USA has announced that they will bring a special advanced screening of the Magia Record: Puella Magi Madoka Magica Side Story TV anime to Anime NYC 2019. The event will showcase the 1st two episodes of the series and feature special guests Aoi Yūki, the voice of Madoka Kaname, and Mitsutoshi Kubota, the President of SHAFT and an animation producer. SHAFT is the studio which produced well-known TV anime such as Bakemonogatari and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. The studio returns to adapt the Magia Record mobile game into a TV anime.

The event will take place in Room 1E09 in the Javits Center on Saturday, November 16 at 12 pm ET. After the screening of the 1st two episodes, a special talk show will be held featuring the two special guests. You can check out the anime’s trailer below.

Aniplex USA describes the story as follows:

In exchange for the fulfillment of a wish, Magical Girls keep fighting, unbeknownst to the rest of the world.
But Iroha Tamaki can’t seem to remember her wish.

“When I became a Magical Girl, what did I wish for again?”

There is a gaping hole in her life.
Something important has been lost.
But she continues to fight every day, without even knowing why…

Then, a rumor begins to spread among Magical Girls.

“Magical Girls can be saved if they go to Kamihama.”

Kamihama City, the city where Magical Girls and Uwasa are gathering.
The story of Iroha Tamaki, in search for her lost wish, begins…

Anime NYC 2019 takes place from November 15-17, 2019 in the Javits Center in NYC. Tickets are still available to purchase online. For more information on the Magia Record anime, please check out its official website.
