Nintendo has taken time today to remind its users that the Wii Shop Channel will be shutting down for good on January 30th 2019. Today’s PR also revealed a newer detail that video streaming apps, including Netflix, Hulu, and Crunchyroll will also begin shutting down by that time.

The Wii Shop Channel began its gradual shutdown back on March 26th, when the ability to add Wii Points was removed. If you have points still leftover or games to redownload, you can spend them or reclaim purchases until January 30th. After that, the online shop will cease to be.

Today’s reminder coincidentally falls on the release of the Wii’s probable last retail release, Just Dance 2019. By the time the Wii Shop Channel is gone, the only online functionality of note left on Wii will be its Opera-based internet browser. For running around 12 years, Nintendo’s first built-in online store will leave a legacy of great games that will be lost from circulation.
