Sword Art Online: Alicization | Main Visual

The official website for Sword Art Online: Alicization has streamed a new teaser for the upcoming anime. The video revealed some of the staff members for the show and revealed the anime will premiere in October 2018. You can check out the video below.

The show’s announced cast is as follows:

  • Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Kirito/Kazuto Kirigaya
  • Haruka Tomatsu Asuna/Asuna Yuuki
  • Ai Kayano as Alice
  • Nobunaga Shimazaki as Eugeo

Manabu Ono will direct the third season at A-1 Pictures. Ono has previously worked on shows such as The Irregular at Magic High School, Horizon in the Middle of Nowehere, and The Asterisk War. Ono replaces previous director, Tomohiko Itō. Shingo Adachi will work on the character designs. Gou Suzuki and Tomoya Nishiguchi, animation directors for Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale, will also work on the character designs.

Sword Art Online has inspired two TV anime series, an anime special, as well as a feature anime film. The series has also inspired multiple video game and manga adaptations, including some spin-offs. One of these spin-offs, Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online, will also receive an anime from 3Hz. This is set to premiere on April 7, 2018.

Sword Art Online: Alicization is set to premiere in October 2018. It will cover the entirety of the “Alicization arc.”
