Koei Temco’s latest entry in the Atelier series, Atelier Lydie & Suelle: The Alchemists And The Mysterious Paintings is adding some new features to battle system. This time a around sisters Lydie and Suelle will able to mix items during battle via Battle Mix and Extra Mix.

Battle Mix recipes will enhance weapons or cause a big changes to the battlefield conditions. Extra Mix use pre-synthesized items and allows you to heighten their abilities or add new characteristics. For example. Bombs can be upgraded during battle to have a wider range and do even more damage. Taking advantage of both of these new options can really turn the tide of battle in your favor.

Another new feature is the all new Combination Battle mechanic.  Here upto eight companions can join you in the battle. Building upon the party setup found in previous series entries, each of the four characters will partner up with another to form a strong unit which will attack enemies in combat and have a supporting effect. The four characters at the front of the pair will focus on attacking the opponent, while the four at the back will provide defense and support as needed.

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.
