The hotly anticipated Spider-Man for PlayStation 4 got a gameplay trailer at Sony’s E3 2017 press conference. Developed by Insomniac Games (Ratchet & Clank), it bears a resemblance to the Batman: Arkham series, including an open world city to explore, badduns to take down in stealth and in hand-to-hand combat, and missions aplenty. Web-slinging will also be heavily involved to save civilians and fight crime.

Like the butler Alfred in the Arkham games, Spider-Man takes his calls from a Yuri in the same fashion (mission logs, cheeky banter). The Spider-Man himself is being portrayed by Miles Morales from the comics.

As previously seen in last year’s reveal trailer, it’s a highly cinematic adventure, too. The new¬†game launches in 2018.

    Game. Of. The. Show.

Sony definitely saved the best for last. That gameplay, man. It was amazing.Arkham style combat, but still distinct. Jump to any high point with precision. Wall running. Web slinging. Web traps. Environmental combat and takedown items. This will be the revival Spidey needed.

The only minor criticism I have is that what they showed was a bit QTE heavy, but I can live with that.
