Sony confirms that a golden Slim PS4 will retail in the US in time for E3 2017. The gold PS4 of the moment will retail for $249.99 USD, a $50 discount from its usual $300, and will include a gold DualShock 4 (pictured below) to match and a 1 TB hard drive. The special console previously leaked out in photo form from a Wal-Mart shopper.

For budget shoppers who want to jump on the special edition, this gold system will be sold from June 9th to June 17th, coinciding with Sony’s Days of Play event to celebrate E3. The gold controller will also be sold separately for the usual asking price of $64.99 USD.

Long-time PlayStation fans may remember a similar gold PS4 that was offered through a Taco Bell promotion back in 2015 (up to 6,000, in fact). This special edition PS4 is not the end of Sony’s bargain offers for their E3 kickoff. Other deals will be highlighted during the Days of Play, from games to hardware to accessories.

So far, retailers Best Buy and Target are known to be selling the system, with others like GameStop sure to join the roster as more information on Sony’s Days of Play event rolls out. No further exact deals are announced as of yet.
