Vostok Inc.

Vostok Inc. has landed on Steam Greenlight, where it now waits to see if it will amass the votes needed to make it onto Steam. The game is a space shooter based around amassing as much wealth as you can. You are the new CEO of Vostok Inc.

Enemies, bosses, and vanquished hazards in the environment drop loot. Once you get the money flowing, you can upgrade your ship’s weapons and augmentations. You’ll want to land on a planet and start some mining, too. You can start bringing in even more moolah by hiring executives, managers, and consultants, which are scattered about the galaxy. Don’t forget to keep them happy, though! Check out the trailer:

The game features six solar systems with 40 planets for you to exploit. Vostok Inc. also includes an arsenal of 19 weapons to craft and upgrade, plus there are over 500 objectives to keep you busy and having fun. The developers also threw in 13 mini games for when you need a break from your space business empire. You can check out the full press release below:

Are you ready to blast your way through armies of galactic space aliens as a corrupt, greedy, narcissistic yuppie – while accumulating billions, trillions [NO, WAIT!] … *sextillions* of Moolah? Of course you would. Then vote for Vostok Inc. on Steam Greenlight. Then just sit back and look smug knowing that you’ve done your good deed for the day.

If we haven’t convinced you yet, here’s Jimmy from Vostok Inc. riding a spaceship through the galaxy blasting out Moolah!

You’re the newly appointed CEO of Vostok Inc. As a greedy space capitalist, your ultimate goal is to get filthy stinking rich!

Of course, it wouldn’t be much of a shooter if there weren’t enemies to blast on the way to untold riches. You’ll encounter a variety of different alien races (each with their own agenda) with assets ready for “liquidation.” Each dead enemy, defeated boss, and vanquished environmental hazard drops loot – making every encounter a ripe business opportunity. Once you’ve collected enough Moolah, it’s time to land on planets and start mining, terraforming and colonizing.

Once the Moolah starts flowing, you’ll be able to upgrade your ship weapons and augmentations. Increase profits even further by finding and recruiting managers, consultants, and executives scattered throughout the galaxy.

Need to take a break from all the mayhem? Kick back and enjoy one of Vostok Inc.’s retro inspired 13 minigames. Even the most hard-working CEOs deserve a rest!

  • Explore and exploit more than 40 planets over 6 solar systems.
  • Land on any planet and begin extracting resources to build up your Moolah production.
  • Keep yourself entertained with more than 500 objectives.
  • Craft and upgrade an arsenal of 19 diverse weapons – from lasers and missiles to gravity guns and trip mines.
  • Purchase and upgrade a huge array of ship augmentations – including the ability to slow time.
  • Collect loot from fallen enemies, bosses or environmental hazards.
  • Find and recruit managers, consultants, and executives scattered throughout the galaxy – and keep them happy to boost planetside production.
  • Play 13 minigames within a virtual pet type system.
  • Enjoy an adaptive audio system, with music that constantly evolves as you play!

About Michael Fontanini

Michael is a veteran gamer in his late 30s, who grew up around video games, with fond memories of the oldies like the NES, SNES, and N64 among others. He loves Nintendo, but also plays a lot of games on his PC. Michael also enjoys going for walks/bike rides, loves animals, and enjoys thunderstorms (and science in general).

Michael is also a computer programmer. This started with a toy he got as a kid called Pre-Computer 1000 that was made by V-Tech. It had a simple programming mode (a bare-bones version of BASIC) which is what started him down the road of being a programmer! Michael can program in BASIC, Visual Basic, C++, C#, and is familiar with Java and Lua Script.

Putting programming and gaming together, Michael became a hobbyist game developer, which may give him some good insights on game development! Most recently, he has been playing with the Unity 3D game engine (a powerful and easy-to-use engine) and learning 3D modelling in Blender.

I love Nintendo but I also play a lot of game's on PC, many of which are on steam. My favorite Nintendo game's include Zelda, Metroid, and Smash Bros to name a few. On PC I love the Half-Life games, as well as most all of the Source Engine games just to name a few.
