It’s a particularly exciting week for the Nintendo Download. Not only are great games on offer, but this was the day that Nintendo officially revealed the NX, or as they are now calling it, the Nintendo Switch! I’m still reeling from the revelations of what it is, as I’m sure many of you are. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t get to do my job! So, I’m here as always to cover the great new digital offers, sales and otherwise, that Nintendo has for us this week. Let’s stop chatting and get to the juicy stuff!

First off, an absolutely wonderful new indie game has officially hit the eShop today, and it’s called Pirate Pop Plus! That might sound familiar to you, assuming you read my in depth review. If not, just keep in mind it’s a great arcade classic style game with lots of replay value. If that doesn’t excite you, you might be more inclined to check out SteamWorld Heist which is now on the Wii U! I absolutely loved that one on my 3DS, but if you’re not convinced, check out our review.

As far as Virtual Console titles, there are a couple of greats here this week. For the Wii U Virtual Console, you can pick up The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks! I rather enjoyed that game on my DS, and if you somehow missed it, it would behoove you to check it on now. For the 3DS Virtual Console, we have the SNES classic Breath of Fire! That’s another fantastic game, though it has aged a bit in comparison to Spirit Tracks. Either way, they don’t always have games this great available on the VC, so I suggest you check these out. There are also several sales available this week. Many will sound familiar to last week, but you can check out the full list here.

For other new releases this week, I wish I could go into more detail, but the links Nintendo has provided don’t seem to work. That said, you should probably give a look to Fairune 2 on the 3DS, as the first one was pretty entertaining. So that’s it for this week! If you missed it, go check out the Nintendo Switch and make sure to pick up some of these great games!
