Yooka-Laylee is set to return gamers of all ages back to the N64 era of platforming goodness next year, and they will have some unexpected company. In a new trailer that revealed a bunch of characters you’ll encounter in the game, Shovel Knight was revealed, complete with Banjo-Kazooie style gibberish. While it’s not uncommon to see indie game characters appear in other indie games, it’s pretty rare to see them in 3D like this. While Shovel Knight won’t be playable, it’s still cool to see him in a game like this. Check out the full trailer below.

Yooka-Laylee will be released in Q1 2017 for Wii U, PS4, Xbox One and PC.
