Overwatch Ana combat

Developer Blizzard Entertainment has announced a new playable character for their massively successful hero shooter Overwatch. The new hero is Ana Amari, the mother of playable character Pharah and a founding member of Overwatch.

In-game, Ana will play the role of a support sniper, able to fire at enemies for damage over time or at allies to heal them. Her secondary weapon is a sidearm that fires tranquilizer darts that temporarily put enemies to sleep, immobilizing them until they take damage. She can fire Biotic Grenades, which heal allies and damage enemies over time within an area of effect. Finally, her ultimate ability is called Nano Boost, and gives one ally a temporary boost to movement speed and damage output, while reducing the damage they take from attacks.

Ana’s abilities can be seen in action in Blizzard’s preview trailer for her:

Blizzard has not announced when they will be adding Ana into Overwatch.
