The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine

You may remember that The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Expansion Pack has a release date of 5/31/2016. To most of our readers┬áthat means tomorrow. However, the world does have different time zones. And as a result, that means that the expansion goes live in 7┬áhours as of this article’s posting. That is not very far away, so you may want to pre-load this if you haven’t, that option has been available for PS4 and PC for a few days now. Also of noteworthy news is that Patch 1.20 went live on PS4 this morning, that was one thing that I wasn’t expecting. Needless to say, you should be downloading that before starting the expansion as well. So this is your friendly Operation Rainfall staff giving you a PSA to get downloading if you aren’t spending this Memorial Day at work. And I’ll see you in the land of Blood and Wine.

About William Haderlie

Born in the 1970's, I've been an avid participant for much of video game history. A lifetime of being the sort of supergeek entrenched in the sciences and mathematics has not curbed my appreciation for the artistry of video games, cinema, and especially literature.

I just spent some time playing with the 1.20 update, and it is a significant one. The promised graphics overhaul is added, and it improves the whole game, not just the new area. I’m playing on PS4 and I’m very impressed what they could dow ithin the limitations of that system. Also, the menus have been completely redesigned from the ground up to make them easier to navigate and much more flashy. They really took their time with this one and I can’t wait to do a New Game+ after I finish with the Blood & Wine content.

Can’t wait to boot it up tonight and see how the improvements have impacted the vanilla game. Have to build my way up to B&W as I started a new game and lost my old save file. But I consider it time well spent replaying.
