Bandai Namco’s dungeon crawler RAY GIGANT is hitting PSN in both North America and Europe today. The game is being published by acttil, llc. and is only available digitally at the price of $29.99. Here are some of the key features of the game straight from the press release.

▪ Guided by Fate! – Play through three different points of view to uncover the mystery behind what’s happened in this world. Players must battle against Gigants and a myriad of other characters.

▪ Keep Your Eyes Open! – Fight skyscraper-sized bosses in battles with 3-Way views! For special boss battles, each of the characters will utilize their special abilities! Varying from close to long range on the field, strategically plan attacks from each characters’ position!

▪ Slash Beat Mode! – The rhythm-based battle action system, Slash Beat Mode, allows characters to unleash their hidden power of transformation by offering their body to their Yorigamis. If timed correctly with the rhythm-based commands, the enemy will receive a tremendous amount of damage.

▪ Evolve Tree System!– Level up your characters’ stats with the Evolve Tree System! Master all three branches of the tree (Physical, Command, Item) to bring your character to new heights!

About Steve Baltimore

Steve started with oprainfall not long after the campaign moved from the IGN forums to Facebook. Ever since, he has been fighting to give all non-mainstream RPGs a fair voice. As the site admin, he will continue to do this and even show there is value in what some would deem "pure ecchi." He loves niche games and anime more than anything... well, except maybe Neptune.

Between Severed and Stranger of Sword City I’m fine on the dungeon crawler front. I may pick up this game when it becomes cheaper.

  • Dgnfly

Digital only is the turn off for me, so its most likely filthy cheap or no buy at all.

The price could be a lot worse. At £24.99 it’s on par with what Tales of Hearts R physical was at launch. At £34.99, the normal price it would’ve taken the mickey though, especially as if there was a retail option it would have been a few pounds cheaper (like with Idea Factory titles). Acctil were good to give us consumers a saving which is what they should do. Also if people don’t buy this and support Acctil it may decrease the chance of us getting future localised projects with physical releases from them. I would get this myself but I just netted a rare physical copy of Hatsune Miku so this game can wait.

My currecny is the euro so its a direct conversion so we pay more regardless of physical or digital. I think the biggest reason this is digital is cause its Vita or else there would be a physical release. and in this won’t affect that much considering european are more into the physical copy then digital cause at the palystation europe blog the first question is always is it going to be physical.

I’m in generaly nothat worried cause there are now so many anime games that i just pick the one who offers me the best for my money so this month i’ll be buying Koei tecmo Arslan,
Nights of Azure, and i got valkyria chronicles pre-ordered so i’m fuly booked.

There is always a fine line between supporting a dev for the sake of content but that would mean they can use and abuse that trust by forcing you to buy a subpar product so i value the option to vote with my wallet so it does do impact regardless of the facts you mentioned.
