Special Mentions For Our Audience

Dark Souls 3 – PS4 Digital, Retail

People like me mold our lives around releases like this one. To say that this is highly anticipated is an understatement. Check out our Review here.

Ratchet & Clank – PS4 Digital, Retail

The game based on the movie that was based on the game. It sounds like an Austin Powers sketch, but alas it’s true. There is a small amount of rehashing of the first game, which was released quite a few years ago at this point, but even then they still do new things with it. It’s receiving really positive buzz so far from those in the press that have played through the game in it’s entirety.

Risk of Rain – PS4, PS Vita Digital (Cross-buy)

A very cool platformer with rogue-like elements. It’s PC release was highly regarded and now it is seeing life on both the PS4 and the PS Vita. Especially on PS Vita this title is getting a great chance to shine so definitely check it out. This is one of those games that makes the moniker “indiestation” a compliment and not an insult.

Stories: The Path of Destinies – PS4 Digital

This game is a 3rd person isometric action game, but with some very interesting design choices and aesthetic. As you can tell from the trailer, this game has an interactive narrator similar to the critical darling Bastion. After how cool that game was, it was a bit surprising that we didn’t see more of it, but game development does take a while so perhaps we are still at the tip of the iceberg. This indie title is being released at the same time as it’s PC release on PS4, so I’m just going off of the preview information, but what I’ve seen is very cool.

Other Releases

None this week, all of them are above. Most likely developers wanted to clear out the way for Dark Souls 3.
