Jiro Ono

One of the most critically-acclaimed documentaries of the past few years was Jiro Dreams of Sushi, a profile of aged sushi master Jiro Ono on his continued efforts to perfect the craft of sushi-making. Underscored by music from minimalist Philip Glass, this documentary is a brilliant look into an aspect of Japanese culinary culture that everyone should check out. VIZ Media recently obtained the rights to publish a new “culinary guidebook” detailing the different types of sushi that Jiro Ono crafts at his restaurant in Tokyo. Check out the press release below for more info!

This is really interesting – I will have to pick this up when this is released. Thanks for posting this.

For those that have not seen the documentary, check it out on Netflix. It is extremely well-made, puts into perspective the hard work and training they all go through, and it will make you hungry.
