The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD Wolf Link amiibo Bundle

A french Amazon listing for The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD may have outed some special bonuses owners of the limited edition will receive. The site lists that there will be a “Hero Mode” and also a special dungeon exclusive to those owning the amiibo.

Naturally, this news will upset fans of the series as the limited edition in North America is sold out on Amazon and will most likely sell out quickly at other game retailers given Nintendo’s past love of low stock. Nintendo has also said that this amiibo is exclusive to the limited edition and will not be sold separately.

The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD will release on March 4 for the Wii U.

Would you rather have these features unlocked without the Amiibo or are you okay with features being blocked behind an Amiibo gate? Let us know in the comments below.

What bullshit. These happy meal toys were borderline fine to unlock just cosmetics, but actual content? screw that. I bet it’s on-disc content too.
At least give everyone the option to buy the stupid 1kb license file, don’t lock away content in limited edition crap.

  • TheGuyWhoLovesAishaFromElsword

Yea it’s sucks that it ended up becoming much worse. Now I hope I get the Amiibo Bundle I preordered a while back. We shouldn’t have to missed the chance of getting that content just cause we didn’t preorder it in time.

I don’t agree with Nintendo’s “DLC” solution. They were the only company that didn’t put essential content.behind a pay wall. I feel that the extra content should be available for everyone.

    • makine

A single extra dungeon in one of the Zelda’s with the most dungeons is essential? Yeah okay.

  • makine

Let’s pretend that Link’s Awakening didn’t have a GBC exclusive dungeon, you didn’t need both Oracles games to get the real ending, there wasn’t a GBA exclusive in those games. Let’s also pretend that Wind Waker HD had virtually no extras.

Nintendo has also said that this amiibo is exclusive to the limited edition and will not be sold separately.

Well, it sure is weird that they bothered to design an amiibo box for it then. Literally no game bundled amiibo have stayed exclusive. Oh and check Best Buy or GameStop. Both still have the bundle in stock.

Oh and there’s only one edition. They aren’t selling a SKU without the amiibo.

    • azariosays

They could sell the game digitally and that box is most likely what is included with the LE.

    • azariosays

agreed, if they announce wolf link amiibo I will write up the article. Until then it’s pretty exclusive.

  • Infophile

If it ends up being free to those with the amiibo and purchasable to those without it, I have no problem with it. Or if they make the amiibo easily available without resorting to scalpers.

But Nintendo has surprised me in the past with their stupid moves, so they just might actually go for the full stupid on this one. We’ll have to say. Too early to tell if this might just be a mistake.

    • azariosays

I still can’t wrap my head around three of the new fire emblems on one cart with the LE, but sold on separate carts by themselves. money? maybe…

  • I<3Pawnee

I think people should remember that this is just a rumor. With information from a 3rd party site. For a market that isn’t ours. Just a few things to keep in mind before getting all worked up.

    • azariosays

this is true. no official word as of yet. even if certain sites are writing it if it’s not a rumor 😉

  • Superr Mann

    Good thing I preordered mine

  • Klagmar

I think this article is confused. There is no “Limited Edition” – the amiibo is bundled with all physical copies of the game. And it’s very much not out of stock. The only potential problem is digital copies but we haven’t heard one way or the other if there will be a solution for that.
