Koei Tecmo has announced that they will be localizing Nights of Azure for the Europe and North America for PlayStation 4 only. The game was released for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita in Japan. Some fans would like to be able to play the title on their Vita and have spoken up about it.

It seems Koei Tecmo Europe is listening and took to Twitter to ask followers “How Important is the release of ‘Nights of Azure‘”. Then they posted a poll that has since been closed asking if they would like a physical or digital copy.

Then they asked if the Vita version came out after the PS4 version would fans still purchase it?

Then it seemed they just settled on asking if digital only would be okay.

If you would like to see Nights of Azure as a physical or digital version I would suggest Tweeting at Koei Tecmo Europe and let them know.

I think they are taking advantage of fan’s desperacy for a Vita version and will probably fob them off with a digital only release for the platform. Very dissappointing.

    • azariosays

a digital version would be fine and all, but koei tecmo have done limited physical editions in the past. Fingers crossed they do that with this game.

    • Kazkari

Why did they do limited physical? They only time they did something “like that” was with NISA so it wasn’t really them. Its a shame it will most likely end up digital for the Vita users.

    • azariosays

After low sales of toukoden 2 Koei said they won’t be doing physical vita games. After they allowed nisa to release limited copies of their games including escha and logy plus for fans who really want the physical copy. I think that is better than nothing.

    • Kazkari

I suppose its better than nothing but its still rather unfair, if something is digital it should actually cost less than the physical copy not more, until then I can’t accept digital as an option. Plus I’m sure every Vita Atelier game even before then has been digital due to their lack of faith.

    • Joey

Yeah but they involve NIS America, but this firm have given Europe the cold shoulder in terms of not bringing these LEs to Europe, and when they do bring over LEs, they overprice them 9 times out of 10. That’s why I hope they do a print run themselves.

    • azariosays

Yea I agree, plus it seems Koei tecmo America is not saying anything at this time.

    • azariosays

however they have retweeted their polls. We’ll see what happens?

  • Kazkari

Nice they gave no priority to Ciel Nosurge though despite the masses of requests.

    • azariosays

that is a game i wish came over. it’s needed for anyone who wants to understand ar no surge.

    • blackice85

Yeah I held off on playing that one. I think someone did a write up or synopsis of the first game, so I may eventually get around to it though.

    • azariosays

a youtuber actually went and add subs to the entire game in episodes, but i think they were all taken down : (

    • blackice85

Wow that must have taken dedication, shame I missed it then. I understand localizing the first would have been costly, but it’s kinda weird to release the second without the first.

    • Kazkari

It still exists if you are interested, hes continuing his work with alot of dedication and hard work (as it is a very long game). It took me 6 months to finish playing it myself but maybe 3/4 would be more reasonable haha.

    • Firion Hope

      Still there it seems

    • Kazkari

Nope hes still doing them, he just got upset at some people bothering him at the time and insulting his work.

    • Kazkari

I think it was good enough on its own, interacting with Ion was lovely the way they did it made her seem very much alive and with so much character. Its a real shame they never gave it a chance. I’m personally buying VN’s from other companies in spite to KT, this just annoys me further that they only care about stuff that can be easily sold to the masses rather than something that could have a loyal fanbase.

  • Go2hell66

once the game is done and localised, not releasing it on vita would be stupid at that point, its just more money for you and more options for us…

  • Mr0303

I wouldn’t mind if the Vita version came over even in digital only form. Cross-save is an amazing feature.

    • Keichi Morisato

cross save is the whole reason i purchased both versions of Trails of Cold Steel, and to show my support i bought both LE’s.

    • azariosays

      i did the same

    • Keichi Morisato

just yesterday i finished paying for my preorder at Gamestop for both versions, i am so excited for the game to be released on the 22, which should roughly be in 2 weeks.

  • Razorfall

That would be awesome because cross saving is amazing. Physical releases are a must because memory cards are expensive as hell.

  • Keichi Morisato

i’d be down with a digital only release.

  • $$$psvita$$$

And sadly no games will be release physically on the Vita”or”dlc way the go KT
…oh well Ps4have all them perks and for $60+ would Add depths to my purse but I digress. The only sad part is that this game did not made a cut on the psvita “60fps much” .
